I updated some text at one site and now only main site (index) runs. The other sites (e.g. contact) have fallen and there's error 404. What's quite strange, I can edit them via admin panel, yet I cannot preview or open them.
Any suggestions to solve my problem?
edit: problem temporary solved by turning off friendly URL's.

Did your contact page (and other pages except index) work previously?
If not (or you don't know), are you sure your server has mod_rewrite support?
If yes, did you change anything your root .htaccess file?

Earlier they worked fine. I haven't modified .htaccess.

Any other changes? Plugins or scripts added?
Any notices in website health check?

I did and now the page gets a 404 error. Other/data/pages.xml shows the correct slug. I don't remember what I originally had in there.
When I try to load the page, the error message says it cannot find index.php. This is not the file that should be loading. The URL in the address bar points to the correct page.
Short of deleting the entire data folder and uploading it again, is there something else I can do?
