Thought I'd share this with you guys.
Recently was making a new theme. All was going well, had installed all the usual plugins (I18n search, navigation, base etc).
Halfway through the project I thought "oh, forgot to turn on FancyUrls."
When I did, I then found that every page except the index page resulted in a 404
Nothing I did, made any difference. I closed all of the plugins one by when and cleared the cache after every closure too.
Nope . . .all had the same effect.
In the end I made a new instance of GS.
Right after you create the instance and are told to change the default password and before
any plugins or xml pages were copied over, I selected the FancyUrl checkbox and selected 'save'.
The fancy urls work fine now, even after I added and switched on the plugins and copied the xml pages over.
Weird . . .
The only thing I could think of is maybe a corrupted version of GS that I copied over.
Just wondered if anyone else has experienced the same issue.
Cheers
