I vote against. People who post in a german subforum can expect answers only from german-speaking members and they're limiting themselves in number of answers only because they're too lazy to write in english or use translation software/service. Even if they get an answer it doesn't really helpful for other users because of the language barrier. There are some more minor downsides, simply look at the communities of other popular content management systems (EE, WP), most of them use only english language.
