Relative path vs full path for images and PDF links

Hey Carlos, my reply was more targeted towards the general discussion of the problem as towards your script. I highly appreciate anything that helps me to make things easier.
I just feel that this should be solved in GS at the base level in the hopefully not too distant future to make GS the ultimate in site portability which it has the potential to be.
