I will soon upload a new responsive admin theme that I've been developing. The admin theme is fully responsive and modern in look. The theme is driven via plugin and is easy to brand to the color that you desire.

Looking forward to seeing it. There is often talk of a new front to the backend but nobody really able to commit to it. This could be the way ahead. We could maybe just de-style the back end and add styling and responsiveness by plugin.

I agree. Doing it by plugin is pretty simple and doesn't require much. I really like the simplicity of GS and hopefully people will enjoy a new look on the back end. Next is figuring out how to get the file uploads to work via mobile so you can upload images from any device.
