Forum Theme

I created a new theme, this replaces the hack test I did a while back.

and change Board Style:
from Use Default to -getsimple.

EDITED, now a standard theme, not yet defaulted to all.

Please test it out on al browsers you can , and we can get it global ASAP.

Its active today, sorry I got wasted last night.
No its just a quick css hack, I haven't actually installed any themes.

And this theme has no styling so its very limited.

I don't know why these themes are all table based have zero css structure.
They are aweful.

Yeah it looks like there are templates and themes. Now i understand why they all look the same.
Themes only change the templates css.
Templates need the overhaul to be styleable to actually change the layouts.

I made it as close to the old theme as possible.

Yeah, I like it a little better. But on the home page of the forum, the colum with the read/unread buttons is way huge.

Yeah because nothing has classes or ids, its impossible to target stuff without a myriad of cs selectors.
I find it negligible for now.

We can get some styles added to the tempates and we can target stuff. Right now you cant even target specific tables they are all the same. Makes me wonder why they update the product but the theme is coded like its 10 years old.

seems to be causing it....

I know whats causing it I wrote it.
But its the same rule that matches the sizing of our profile panel.
Just not enough specificity.

I can turn it off, but then the profile columns get all wonky if someone has a long name. I am overriding inline crap.
Not easy.

The solution is to fix the templates, but that's a bigger job that requires some planning.
I gotta find a cheat sheet on these templates, there are so many.

It might take awhile for the styles to update as they are cached.

Should I make this default for now, with a few new adjustments

Once its properly installed and I can tweak templates and fix some borders etc ?

tbh I had to set both templates in 2 different browsers to see the difference.
The one you have added is a bit better, but have a look at old punbb template.
It was my favourite template from all BBS I've ever used.
And it was right one for getsimple

Its not like you can just swap out a template, mybb uses like 1000 little templates.
I do not knwo how it actually gets loadd or replaced.

Converting a punbb template to mybb is not exactly a skill I want to learn. Although I agree if we can we will but it will take time and testing. This is just enough to make us happy in the meantime if everyone agrees.

I didn't ask what you want for christmas, I just asked if you want this damn cookie or not.


I need to work on GS not some forum. Now if anyone wants to tackle this, ill get you the old theme and you can play on your own server and figure it out.
