Innovation social plugin

I see Shawn improved the Innovation Theme Plugin earlier this year. Oleg has some instructions (in Russian) for using this plugin on any site - pretty handy since it is always installed - and I have the plugin working on one of my sites now. Some questions:

I don't have Innovation Settings ( hidden when theme is not Innovation) so how would I get the settings to show?

Are the 'settings' useful? Seems to work without.

The plugin seems to work even without being 'activated' - is this right?

The plugin in Extend is the old version I think?

I thought I might google-translate Oleg's instructions and edit and post them here in English for other users.

I think I posted this elsewhere, there is now a flag in the plugin for themeid to modify it for other themes so it shows up. Its posted somewhere in the forums.

change
$hidemenu = true;
to
$hidemenu = false;
in
/plugins/InnovationPlugin.php
