Hi tempUser,

thank you for this nice theme. I have just a few questions:

- Does the theme offer flyout/dropdown menus for subpages? Or could this be extended? Ideally via CSS?

- Could I choose a different background image for each page?
I found this: https://pastebin.com/6pWbv4AG

Thank you!

Ok i just test how to create the sub-menu, stay tuned =)
Question: do you prefer to use the theme without additional modules or do you also accept the idea of using additional modules such as the "I18N" module?

Hi tempUser,

I already have two plugins called "I18N Base" and "I18N Navigation" in my installation. This is what you mean? So additional modules are no problem for me.

Thank you

Can you try this new version?
   http://fenixlm.altervista.org/cleanbloggh

I only show first menu level (the main level) and second menu level (childs of first menu items)

(it is a demo version. I have to fix some things before making it public and downloadable)

Hi tempUser,

this is amazing! On the desktop as well as on a smartphone! Will this structure come automatically from page structure (pages/subpages)?

Bye

Looks great and finally a template that also supports 2nd level navigation. Is the new version already available for download?

IMHO, using the I18N plugin is the most convenient way, even if you want to change the menu structures later.

Thanks for the feedback. I try to make the new download available shortly in the weekend =)

To answer questions: The new menu is generated by including all the pages where you check "Add the page to the menu?" and in the order defined in "manage menu". The only difference from the default system of the CMS is that the second level pages are shown in the menu as "childs".
For now, this theme don't need external modules but don't support I18N module.

See you when i upload new version =)

The solution you just described sounds good. I am really looking forward to your updated template. Great that you can directly accept changes or suggestions.

Great! I'll download it and play around with it. But now, thank you for taking the trouble.

/edit:

A first impression: Great!

And a little suggestion for improvement:
Is it a big problem for you to provide a second template for the theme where the sidebar is not activated? So you can decide from side to side if you want the sidebar or not?

I have one or the other side where I want to take advantage of the full width and Sidebar is really useless.

Yes, I had also thought of creating various "templates" I think is a great idea (easy to use)! =)

See you in the next version! Wink

Hi tempUser,

thank you for the extension. I have a difficulty: When a first level menu entry has sub-entries and a little arrow, the first level link itself has no function. On my local installation it leads to "http://getsimple/#", and not to the first level page. On your demo site it is the same effect.

Is that accidentially? I believe in user's eyes opening the first level page would be more expected.

I can fix it but i must to think a good solution. The problem is this: if you have a touch device with no mouse you can't "hover" the menu' item and show sub-items. In my solution if you see you can click or hover the menu-item and you can see the same label at the first of sub menu (in this case you can click this label and go to the link).

This behavior allows all users (even tablets) to access the menu without any problems. I can work on code to improve this.

Thanks for the feedback =)

The solution is particularly useful for all smart devices. This is probably the reason why most themes unfortunately only have one menu level.

Cheers!

Hi tempUser and flynn,

of course that's a good point. I did not think of that.

If you do not find an easy solution (css media rules?), perhaps you should leave it as it is. Other responsive themes show the same behaviour.

Hi tempUser,

I have another question:

Your theme acts different on a desktop PC than on a smartphone.

On PC the menu bar appears immediately when I am down on a page and scroll up, so I can find the menu. And it looks transparent, which is very cool. Smile

On smartphone nothing appears on scroll up, I have to go to the first line of the whole page to see the menu symbol. And nothing ist transparent. You can even test it on PC when you make your browser window smaller, so that the menu changes to the menu symbol.

Could you make smartphone behaviour like on a PC?

Thanks

Hello Smile

Yes, true =)
This is the standard behavior of the "navbar" component of bootstrap (the base library with which the menu is built). Here is a basic example that works just like our case:
https://getbootstrap.com/docs/3.3/examples/navbar/
I think the component works this way to make it easier to use it from mobile.

If you want, I can try adding transparency to make the menu more beautiful in the mobile version. From the point of view of functionality, however, I think the actual implementation is the best possible.

This is another type of menu that appears in this case sideways

The menu that slides in from the edge is very sexy indeed.

Hi tempUser,

Quote:I think the component works this way to make it easier to use it from mobile.

But especially from mobile (where I do not have a mouse wheel) there is no way to reach the menu from the bottom of a page... transparency would not be necessary, but the menu should appear when scrolling up.

Hi,

the demo is fine now for smartphone size and for very wide size. But there is still a width between, where the menu does not snap out when scrolling up. You can find it, when making a browser window smaller with the mouse.
