HI Guys/Gals,

I'm new to theming Get Simple so don't be too hard when critiqueing them, I've used the emporium theme as a base so gratz to the emporium theme creator.

I've done two theme, nothing mind blowing, the first is:

Whitebrick

*inspiration from the BBC ooglies tv proggy my daughter watches

and the second is:

TheGrid

*inspired by Tron

their both available from here if anyone wants them, and feedback is welcomed Smile

Hi, some geordie themes!

I must admit, the second theme is too dark for me. but the whitebrick is a nice theme for some funny content

I will have a look into the themes, thanks and greetings to the North!

First check:

1)
the site does not look like in your screenshot and announcement, images not found etc.
casesensitivity is a big problem (checked only Whitebrick)
you refer to "theme/whitebrick" but the Theme is located in "theme/Whitebrick"

please test your theme in a Linux-environment, where everything is case-sensitive

2) contact.php:
/****************************************************
*
* @File: contact.php
* @Package: GetSimple
* @Action: Emporium theme for the GetSimple CMS
*
* Design by Free CSS Templates
* http://www.freecsstemplates.org
* Released for free under a Creative Commons Attribution 2.5 License
*
*****************************************************/

is this your theme, is it Freecsstemplates.org, is it Emporium?

you need clear license information

3)
clear the html-errors, there is invalid markup and a lot of css-errors and warnings

I will not test further, please do a update with correct capitalization, then I will test again ;=)

Hi Connie,

I've corrected the image ref for the logo, the capitalization was a fupar on my part.

I've removed the contact.php (for now) from the .zip, and as I stated in the first post, I used the Emporium theme as the base code, I'm new to this, So i'll take on board what you've said, and install GS on my linux web server and retest and update.

Regards

Hi RichE,

let us know when you continued, please

Another suggestion: a readme-file would be helpful where you inform how to install the theme (as it is not only a theme, but also uses components)

I always find it helpful to have a readme with contact adress of author, information about the theme plus hints how to use it

tra,
Connie

I've added a few files into the zip, I've also cleaned up the rubbish from the css file in both themes and also added in an extras folder containing the font used for the logo and the script for the components used and their respective names.

I've also put in the correct paths for the images that may have been missing.

*outstanding stuff*

test both themes on a linux based web server.
