adding an admin menu item

can you think of any drawbacks if I create a component with this content

<li><a href='/admin' target='_new'>Admin</a></li>

and then put the <?php get_component('adminmenu'); ?> at the end of the <?php get_navigation(return_page_slug()); ?>

no, there shouldn't be... just as long as you don't care that people will have a direct link to your admin panel login...

well my theory is.. that people who know it's a GS Framework will know how to get to /admin, and they have to login.
