Help theming a left-menu

Hi there,

I'm very new to GetSimple, but loving it. I'm trying to get a left-hand menu with image backgrounds to work properly, but my CSS is letting me down I think:

The idea is that the sub-pages appear like the main, but with the blue ribbon background. At the moment the sub-menu items don't work properly in that they get hidden under the next top level item rather than pushing it all down.

Is there anyone who can help me sort out my terrible CSS?

Do you have any img on which you can show how exactly would you like to show the siblings ?



edit: try this css, but I can't assure it's the effect you wanted to achieve.

ps. change hover colors to the one you want
