Finally got around to redoing my site in GS. Thought it was about time to give trying to write a blog type site again with all the great Plugins that have been written and the new caching function available in the newest build.

The site uses the following plugins:

GST Theme Settings - Site wide setting
i8ln_customfields - adds functionality for blogging
i8ln_gallery - for the front page slider, also for portfolio when live
external_comments - for blogging comments
GS_shortcodes (not released) - for post content.

All all blogging code is part of the theme functions with the addition of a few customfields to help things along, which takes care of the blogging, archiving, pagination, tagcloud and searching functions...

I'll release a tutorial on how the site was built over the next couple of days...

Mike.

A complete guide to build a blog based on GS would attract more users for sure.

I like new design, although I hate fixed backgrounds, cause I always feel odd while scrolling pages having fixed images as backgrounds.
A bit less citrus yellow color would make the website a bit warmer.
ahh, slider has higher z-index than top yellow fixed bar Wink
Searchbox could also have brighter border.
What you think about mine remarks ?

hey, thanks for the comments.

been travelling all week and will hopefully get some sort of tutorial up over the weekend.

fixed the z-index and searchbox thanks for that...

as for the yellow , the wife loves it.. and its not often I get the nod for a design that she fully likes so I'll keep it for now... 8)

ohhh don't you even try to use such heavy arguments as "woman" Wink

As it goes about the search input border, I know there's one.
But now it's not even slightly visible for me.

Anyway I like the simplicity of this blog. It's clear and very readable.
