Ways to Secure GetSimple Question

I tried many times to follow the extra security information on this page "http://get-simple.info/wiki/security"
but it never works for me..i have made a post about this but the answers didnt i really understand.

My question is?: do i really need to change the "Login Extra Hash" & "Unique Salt" for my getsimple website to be secure?..and i do run a real risk of getting hacked?.
