Updating a site
#1
Hi. I'm being prompted to update my site but apparently the only way to do this is do (a) delete the entire site (b) then install a new GS and © then restore the data, plugins and theme directories.

Then shouldn't be. I can't, in good faith, delete an entire site and trust that all the hidden files, .htaccess files, etc., are going to work out in the end.

I should be able to just unzip the new GS, then overwrite existing directories on the website (everything except the above 3 directories).

Doesn't that work as well? I tried it and my menu disappeared, so it doesn't quite work.

Anyone have any other suggestions?

Don
