Recommendations for blog setup in GetSimple?

I've used GetSimple now for a few client projects (loving it, by the way) and now I'd like to use it for a personal blog so that I can "play" with it a little more. I've turned to Special Pages a good bit for various needs, so I'm thinking I'll just use that, but I'd love to hear from others regarding their experiences with other plugins or techniques.
