QUESTION Setup sending of emails

Hello,
I just installed GetSimple 3.3.8 on my Raspberry Pi (Raspbian 8 (jessie), Apache, PHP). All works fine, except sending of emails.
For example, I don't get any emails when I try to reset a password.
Can anyone guide me on the steps which are necessary to set this up?
