I don't mean to make you sound stupid but have you made sure to check the check box next to all the thumbs you would like to be displayed in the gallery, and made sure that you have created a page and within the page options checked the box "Enable Image Gallery? "
Once you visit the page you have created, it should display the gallery. I am going to look at her source and see really quick if I can get read of the error on the admin page its starting to bug me
If this still doesn't work, I would have to have a link to the site to check the source code...
Oh! One last thing, within the FTP program you may attempt to delete the ".htaccess" file within the plugins directory. This seems to be causing some issues with many plugins due to some of the restrictions that it contains.

Quick update:
Just found I had not added the Thumbs folder in squareit-gallery folder, I forgot to upload it, now have done
Thumbs appear in the plugin admin tool but they are generated into the data/thumbs folder and not the squareit-gallery/thumbs folder?

Thanks Matt for helping debug this one. Sorry chefbyte I haven't been able to respond to your posts.
I think additional to checking dir permission for thumbs folder inside de plugin folder I also need to include a check to see if dir exists. In the plugin zip the directory is included but just as a double check.
@Matt you say that you receive the error message even though your /squareit-gallery/thumbs/ folder is set to 755?? If that's true then I need to troubleshoot that, because i'm not experiencing that.

I looked at the link you posted, and It's not even generating the code that displays the images (<li><img/></li>) This might be an indication that your settings for the gallery are not being save somehow, or the settings file created is not being read correctly. Can you double check to see if a squareit_gallery.xml is being generated in the plugin folder ( /squareit-gallery/squareit_gallery.xml)?
Thanks.

Indeed there is a squareit_gallery.xml that's been generated in the plug-in folder. this has all gone a bit messy now.
I am am going to strip it all back and reinstall, as this site is a concept site for just trying out CS and I am used to testing new items, as I have been in QA for 10 years

As I work on the latest version of the plugin. I was wondering if I might be trying to incorporate new features that would make the plugin more complex but more complete.
So what do you guys think are essential things that the plugin is missing but will allow to keep the simplicity.
Thanks!!

A couple things that would be great to have:
- move the control panel page to the top bar and name it PhotoGallery
- the ability to create multiple galleries
- ability to easily theme the gallery
- maybe the option to do different types of galleries
thats all i can think ofvasvof now, let me know if you need a beta tester!

Not had a chance to revisit your plugin since my last post, as I added an IFrame around my jalbum onto the photo page of my site as a temporary measure. I agree with Matthews comments though.

Done.. It's using the tabs and housing the additional sections in the side bar. I created a plugin that It's called Admin Tab Loader that facilitates this and enables plugin developers to enhance their plugins. Will share this plugin soon.
OWS_Matthew Wrote:- the ability to create multiple galleries Started to work on that.. and that's when it hit me that the plugin was becoming larger and not so simple... haha.. maybe i'll have to rename my plugin to be just Image Gallery

Great suggestions.. will def keep those in mind.
Thanks for the help and I will let you guys know when I'm ready to start letting you guys test the new version.

I am away at my daughters for the holiday and on a laptop and if the weather does not improve it, would be a good reason to have a look at this new version, so I am in

/admin/template/js/jquery-1.4.1.min.js
nothing loaded (I visited it on the ftp and there was no file there with that name, I downloaded it from your working example and uploaded it, and it works great now!
You may consider adding this file to the squarit-simple-gallery folder within your plugin, I am not sure if it should be in the core or not?
I am also going to look into some possible css errors I will report back to you soon!
I've got a jquery.min.js in the js folder, but no jquery-1.4.1.min.js - is this file required for css styling, and where can I find it?
Thanks

@ubuntulistener If you are using GetSimple 2.01 then you should not worry about jquery-1.4.1.min.js since this is for version 2.0.
Are you having problem with the gallery script? Images not poping up?
@mouffin I don't have a running copy of the plugin installed at the moment.. But I will try to get one running this weekend. The latest version is 1.1.0. The latest version that have multi galleries is in testing right now, and I should release it as soon as I'm confident is stable enough to release it to the public.

Elaborate a little bit more... What do you mean by "everything was gone" ? The previous image gallery, you had? or the whole application goes blank?
Yurbasik Wrote:this error i see after uploading you plugin in admin panel...

Is this in v.2.0 Beta??
I will investigate this a little bit more.. because at the moment I'm not able to replicate the error. If anybody else out there experience this, please let me know.
Thanks!!

jQuery(document).ready(function() {
$('a[rel*=facybox]').facybox();
Code: <script>
jQuery(document).ready(function() {
$('a[rel*=lightbox[galeria]]').facybox();
});

OK, installed this and can see the admin tab at the top of the admin tabs, click on it and I get a 404 error?
It generates the following url? /newsite/admin/loadtab.php?id=squareit-gallery&item=squareit-gallery
Plugins are installed and can be seen:
Simple Image Gallery Description: Allows the author of a site to create image galleries
Version 2.0.0 | By Square IT Solutions
Admin Tab Loader Description: Allows plugins to create admin tabs and use full content canvas and side bar.
Version 1.0 | By Square IT Solutions
No xml file is generated in the squareit-gallery folder, permissions are 775
