GST ThemeSettings plugin

[getsimplethemes]

Hi everybody,

Today we're releasing our ThemeSettings plugin.

To be able to build more complex and advanced CMS themes, you really can’t get away from some way of storing and retrieving theme data. This is exactly what this plugin does; it allows your theme to store and retrieve bits of data.

Try unescaping (strip_slashes($mystring)) before printing the value to the screen. That should do the trick. We'll look into this and we might update the plugin to auto-unescape strings.

Installing this plugin with theme pixelstudio. but i cant see any setting. Only blank textblock.
any ideas what that caused? i have installed get-Simple completely new, uploaded theme and plugin (plugin 1. theme 2.)
i am using debian 6, php 5 apache 2 and firefox. With IE is same problem.

if the theme works without the plugin then there are incompatibities
as this theme uses a lot of Javascript, no wonder

maybe the creators of the theme can give you a hint, but being realistic, I would say not everything is compatible with everything ;=(

How is this plugin different from using components? I fear I'm not getting the plugin's purpose.

sorry, i mixed something.

I once installed that theme, followed the installation readme and got a working GetSimple in a very impressive manner. Everything worked,
I did this with GS 2.0.3 as far as I remember.

So, beyerservice, did you really follow all installation steps correctly?

I will test. give me 15 minutes

1) I download the theme from http://getsimplethemes.com/pixelstudio/
2) I unpack it to my harddisk
3) I follow the manual.pdf:
- upload gst-themesettings.php to the plugins folder
- upload the folder "PixelStudio" to the themes folder
- upload data in data-folder as well
- activated the theme
- in settings / GST Theme Settings the dialogue is empty, no chance to enter something

Will check with another fresh installation:

1) installed a new version of GS 3.0, just changed admin password, but no new pages added etc.
2) uploaded plugin, theme and data to that installation
3) activated the theme and it shows ok with the default content which is added by uploading data, slideshow is working etc., picturegallery is empty (just add other images in the component "sidebar")
4) in Settings / GST Settings still an empty area

and now? In Germany we say "Wer lesen kann, ist klar im Vorteil" which means: "It's an advantage if you can read" ;=)

in the last comment we read, that it is not GS 3.0-compliant and Matt promises to update...

so I will keep my test-installation and wait for the update ;=(

i did 2 or 3 fresh installation. 1. in subfolder getsimple, 2. without subfolder, 3. with subfolder
first im upload data folder, but now i didnt. but nothing changed.
i am happy, you got same issue :-)
so its a bug (feature)

ups. Problem is plugin in your pixelstudio theme. Downloading gst-themesettings.php from author page and uploading in plugin folder themes are working!

Hi everybody,

I am very sorry about the lack of responses regarding the issue with the GST ThemeSettings plugin and GetSimple 3.0. I have been traveling for the past two months and haven't been able to tend to matters as I usually would.

I fixing the issue at the moment and I'll publish an update for the plugin within a few days. Thanks for your patience.
