Change Admin Login

Hey Guys,

i want to change my Username in Getsimple. But there is only the possibility to change the password.

So I take a different way and installed the Multi User Plugin and start with these guide

But it doesnt work. I cant login with the new user.
I use Getsimple in the version 3.1.2 and Multi User in 1.7.

Try this:

1)
check /data/users/xxx.xml (where "xxx" stands for your username)

2)
make a backup of this file and download it to your local computer first

3)
rename this file to zzz.xml (where "zzz" stands for your new username)

4)
open that file zzz.xml in an editor (not textprocessor!!!), and you will find this XML-element:

Code:

<USR>xxx</USR>

edit here and enter your new username "zzz"

5)
upload that file to your /data/users-folder at the server

test if you can work now
I did that and it worked.

If it does not work, delete zzz.xml and re-upload xxx.xml

i tried it with your way, but i can still login with the old username and pwd. I think the site is already cached, because changes in the style.css doesnt have some effects.
I remove all files from the folder cache. Is there some other way to clear the cache correctly?

Ok I'm sorry, my workmate copied the installation to annother location. Thats why i worked at the wrong place...

I may mock about it because I know this situation so well from my job...
