Make new posts on main page?

You can blog with GetSimple. It works well. But it isn't primarily a blogging platform. It's a CMS for making sites with pages in the menu. If you want a blog I would recommend the News Manager (updated) plugin and in no time at all you will have it set up to display posts as extracts in reverse date order with an image for each one on your index page.
