well, when I was busy with
CMSimple in 2008, I made my personal page (sort of starting page) with CMSimple
now this page was too old and I didn't like it anymore
so I relaunched it with
GetSimple. I used the template "greenforest" from
http://www.freecsstemplates.org/ as basic layout because I wanted a lot of white space and some nice contrasts
it's still monolingual, just in german
the slider in the home-page will have more content soon

Looks very nice. Very clean and easy to navigate.
I wish I understood German so I could actually read the content.

Nice and simple design.
But without Javascript (my default browsing mode), the home page is ruined.
Maybe you want to try the I18N Gallery plugin ;-)
Some gallery types like Cycle have a fallback and will work even if javascript is disabled.
Other point is that I never know where I am as the current menu item is not highlighted. E.g. when clicking on the gribowski link on the second slide I will see a sidebar menu "Meine Blogs", but can't see that I could also get there via "Webwork". Additionally the caption "Meine Blogs" suggests that "Literarisches" below is a blog, but it isn't, as the header is a copy of the submenu item.

Another suggestion: have the footer at the bottom of the browser window for short pages, like
http://mvlcek.bplaced.net/ for an example.

Thanks for your tipps!
this gallery on the front page was the first content slider I installed, I am sure there are better solutions
I will go on, and also I forgot the "current"-css
I will certainly work on that topics,
Connie

If you use a pure javascript slider, you will never get a slider that is functional without javascript, as the generated HTML code has to differ depending on what picture should be displayed - thus you need to do this on the server in php. I have included that code for the I18N Gallery types cycle, fancybox and prettyphoto, so they will work without javascript, too - although it won't look that nice.
e.g. try
http://mvlcek.bplaced.net/i18ngallery/i1...ery-cycle/ with javascript turned off.

I added the "current" and "currentpath" styles to the css, so it looks better
I will check the cycle-plugin soon, thanks!
Later:
I use the cycle-plugin.
And it works! I had a problem with CSS, but it works now.
Thanks!
