singapore gallery integration
#1
I want to integrate singapore gallery (http://www.sgal.org) inside Getsimple. How can I use it. If it can work as a plugin with its admin inside Getsimple's admin panel, that would be great, but for now I will settle for it just working in one of the Getsimple pages.

How do I achieve this?

Andyash,

there is a description how to integrate additional galleries in the i18NGallery, do a search for that.
By that you can use the I18NGallery-Panel for administration

Hi Connie,

The i18NGallery is nothing like singapore gallery. Singapore gallery has provisions for gallery descriptions, image descriptions, copyright info, email etc. ... basically way more information than provided in i18NGallery. So I don't have any option but to use singapore gallery as it is perfect for my project. I have earlier included it inside LightNEasy. I just don't know how to incorporate it inside GetSimple since GetSimple's url structure does not let singapore gallery's internal links work.

I18N Gallery is optimized for GetSimple:
  • it has image titles, tags and descriptions,
  • it does not have gallery descriptions, etc., as you are supposed to directly put this on the page, on which you embed the gallery,
  • it's easy to use,
  • additionally you can filter it by tag, thus showing different parts of a gallery on different pages
  • and - a very important part - it integrates with I18N Search, so your visitors will find the relevant information even if it is just a text in a gallery.

But of course it can not support everybody's needs ;-)
I18N, I18N Search, I18N Gallery, I18N Special Pages - essential plugins for multi-language sites.

yes, that was the posting. I think it will be worth a try to add Singapore gallery

I once used that, one of the very early versions, at that time it was not UTF-8-proof, I think it is better now

Cheers, Connie

Checked it out, pretty nice gallery actually. To be able to use more galleries on Get Simple projects would always be good as different projects can ask for different solutions. So if this or another gallery can be made to work in conjunction with Get Simple I would certainly welcome it (even though I am very happy with Mvlcek's gallery as it is, any plans to add new gallery types to that by the way?).

However, looking at that site and the forum it would seem it wasn't updated in ages.
