GS Setup Video Demo
#1
I made this months ago and wasn't pleased with it but I can't remember quite why.

I have put a link to it on the Wiki. Can we have a youtube plugin on the wiki so that it can be played in the wiki page? I presume it's a useful thing? beginners easy video instruction. I might do more, just to cover the basics.

I don't have any good software so I had to do it in one take and I can't even control the audio volume. What's a better simple and free system for making a screen cam type video?

fraps but its not free.

I found a program clalled sharex its open source and free and I think it does audio. It is not a dedicated screencapture program but that is one of its features.

A toc might also be useful, you can link to locations in video by putting something like
Code:
#t=132
(for time = 2:12 , 60 + 60 + 12 seconds) after url code, although I don't know if that would work with a single video on a wiki page.

I had only glanced at the dokuwiki site and seen that there was one, but now I look more carefully it is flaggaed as poss security issues:
https://www.dokuwiki.org/plugin:youtubev2

There is an equally old 'video' plugin and a general purpose iframe plugin.

Support is already built in dokuwiki. You can add it directly by using this syntax:

Code:
{{http://www.youtube.com/v/6JgG6_VI4DU?.swf?640x480}}
See here for info: http://posheika.net/?p=118

I actually already posted this in the wiki:
http://get-simple.info/wiki/quick_install#video_demo

It's still flash-based though.

It might work with the vshare plugin: https://www.dokuwiki.org/plugin:vshare
