Filezilla:
Filezilla is great! The transfer speeds are lighting fast compared to smartftp, but the interface is considerably slower. Also, one horribly simple feature that the developers refuse* to add (because they do not think it is safe; meaning the developers will make mistakes), is the removal of the upload prompts. After each file edit (if your editing remotely), you must go back to filezilla and the yes to upload.
SmartFTP :
SmartFTP has its pros and cons. It is fairly fast, has a nice design and has many features. However, many of the features you must pay to use. They have several different licenses for different feature levels. Right when you thought you had bought the package that had everything you needed, you find out you must upgrade yet again. AKA, Crippleware.

Amazingly useful software which enables you to very easily and efficiently test any webpage in all IE versions at once.. It almost looks like a regular internet browser with tabs. However, the tabs are different versions of IE rather then different webpages (they can be both).
